How to use Oral Swab for drug testing
Tests, specimens, and controls should be stored in room temperature 60-86°F before use.
- To ensure accurate results during the 13 panel oral swab drug testing, individuals must refrain from introducing any substances (such as food, beverages, chewing gum, and tobacco products) into their mouth for a minimum of 10 minutes before providing the specimen.
- In order to perform a 13 panel oral swab drug testing, kindly employ the supplied collection swab to gently brush the interior of the mouth, including the cheeks, gums, and tongue, for multiple strokes. Subsequently, retain the swab in the mouth until the saturation indicator strip displays its color in the indicator window of the collection swab. It is crucial to refrain from biting, sucking, or chewing on the sponge.
IMPORTANT: After 7 minutes, proceed with the test below, regardless of whether the saturation indicator has shown color in the indicator window.1. Take out the collection swab from the mouth and insert it, with the sponge end first, into the screening device. Securely screw down the cap until it is fully locked.2. Place the test device upright on a flat surface and keep it upright while the test is running. Wait for the appearance of colored bands in the test results area. Read the results at the 10-minute mark. It is crucial not to interpret the result after 20 minutes.3. REMEMBER: Once the collection swab is securely locked into place, the device becomes airtight, tamper-evident, and ready to be disposed of or sent to the lab for confirmation in case of a presumptive positive result. Please note that the above instructions pertain to a 13 panel oral swab drug testing.
How to read Oral Swab testing Results
POSITIVE RESULT: The control region (C) shows a single colored band, while the test region (T) for the drug being tested does not show any colored band.
NEGATIVE RESULT: Two colored bands are observed on the membrane. One band appears in the control region (C), and another band appears in the test region (T) for the drug being tested.
INVALID RESULT: If the control band (C) does not appear, the test result is invalid. Any test that lacks a control band (C) at the specified read time should be disregarded. Please review the procedure and repeat the test with a new one.
NOTE:
1. The intensity of color in the test region (T) may vary depending on the concentration of analytes present in the specimen. Therefore, any shade of color in the test region (T) should be considered a negative result. It is important to note that this test is qualitative only and cannot determine the concentration of analytes in the specimen.
2. Control band failure is most likely due to insufficient specimen volume, incorrect operating procedure, or use of expired tests.
Please note that these statements refer to a 13 panel oral swab drug testing procedure.
